The Spiral
The Spiral: The pencil drawing is an eight hour performance where I drew a continuous spiral to mimic the rings of a tree growing. The duration of time connects to the traditional "work day" and was chosen to reflect the serious, persistent and multi-layered nature of the ongoing public conversation on the use, management preservation of the public lands, particularly the National Forests of Western Montana.
